The downside of online poker
While online poker is becoming a famous game at present, some people still opt to play live poker. There are reasons why people still choose live poker over online poker. One of which is that not everyone is highly skilled with computers and the internet. People who are uncomfortable in playing online poker for this reason find it complicated to play and familiarize themselves with using the internet at the same time.Another reason would be that some internet connections are unstable, and make it inconvenient to play online poker. This is because they would have to connect and log on again to the online poker room, which take time, of course.
The probability of cheating is also higher in online poker. Online poker makes it easier for players to help each other by letting others know what their cards are. They can do this through instant messaging, and other players would not know who's talking with whom. When online poker players know what cards another opponent has, it is easier for him/her to compute his/her outs. This makes it less difficult for them to decide whether to check, fold, raise or call. In live poker, you can easily see who is cheating, unless they are very, very good at it. Online poker rooms try to eliminate this hazard by analyzing their players' patterns. However, it is still more certain to catch cheaters in live poker than in online poker.
