At first glance, making money from online poker might seem difficult. With millions of active poker players from all over the world playing on the Internet, the task of winning is more forbidding considering the level of competition you are facing. In any given online poker room, there are probably dozens of professional-level poker players who can beat you anytime.
Does this mean that you should stop playing online poker? Of course, not. You can still make money from online poker as long as you know how to dominate weaker opponents and avoid the strong ones. Although this may seem like a cowardly approach, this method can turn you into a profitable online poker player. This method is called the "hit-and-run" technique and should be applied to weak, low-limit poker tables.
This tactic requires looking for weak players and pounce on them when the opportunity calls for it. Since this is some sort of an ambush, be prepared to play short, quick games and flee when the situation gets out of hand. Remember, your goal is to win as many games as possible by beating weaker opponents.
To start, enter the lobby of a popular online poker room and look around for short-handed tables with about two or three weak players. Once you have joined the table, concentrate on these weak players and run away with their money. You should do this quickly to avoid attracting attention from stronger players and then leave the table once you've finished defeating weaker opposition.
Do this as often as you can with other tables and see your money grow bigger and bigger. You can hang around at the lobby looking for victims or you can visit other online poker rooms to try your luck and skills.
Another way to win in online poker is to take advantage of double dippers or those players who play two or more tables simultaneously. This player is not concentrating on one game alone and so is not playing to his full strength. This kind of player can be easily exploited and beaten.
The best time to attack a double dipper is when you see him playing another game with a big pot. You then attack his blinds and watch as he surrenders on the bet to concentrate on the bigger pot.
To play using the hit-and-run technique, you must be quick in thinking and be able to switch around games as fast as you can. This method of playing may go against conventional strategy but with practice and effort you will see profitable results in your poker play.
It's fairly easy to make money from online poker as long as you are capable of exploiting weak opponents and double dippers. Just utilize the hit-and-run technique and you will be able to earn a decent living from the game.
